Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTACs) service in Dallas, Tx

Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTACs) are self-contained, compact heating and cooling systems commonly found in hotels, motels, apartment buildings, and other multi-room facilities. PTAC units are designed for easy installation through an exterior wall, usually beneath a window, with a vent to the outside. They provide individual temperature control for each room, allowing occupants to adjust settings according to their comfort preferences. Here’s how they work:

  • Cooling Mode:

  • When the PTAC is set to cooling mode, the indoor fan draws warm air from the room into the unit.

  • When the PTAC is set to cooling mode, the indoor fan draws warm air from the room into the unit.

  • The warm air passes over the evaporator coil, which contains refrigerant. The refrigerant absorbs the heat from the air, causing it to cool down.

  • The cooled air is then circulated back into the room, lowering the temperature.

  • Meanwhile, the refrigerant, now in a gaseous state due to the absorbed heat, travels to the compressor in the unit’s outdoor section.

  • The compressor pressurizes the refrigerant, raising its temperature even further before it reaches the condenser coil.

  • The hot refrigerant passes through the condenser coil, releasing heat to the outside air. As the refrigerant loses heat, it changes back to a liquid state.

  • The refrigerant then flows through an expansion valve, reducing its pressure and temperature before returning to the evaporator coil, where the cycle begins again.

Walk-in Coolers and Freezers Service in Dallas, Tx

Elevated Solutions Team understands Walk-in freezers are essential for businesses that require large-scale cold storage, such as restaurants, grocery stores, and food processing facilities—that is why we provide emergency HVAC services so that your business never has to go without cold products.

They work similarly to standard refrigeration systems but on a larger scale. Here’s an overview of how walk-in freezers work:

  1. Compressor: The refrigeration cycle begins with the compressor pressuring the refrigerant gas, raising its temperature. The heated, high-pressure refrigerant then travels to the condenser.

  2. Condenser: The condenser is outside the walk-in freezer or in a separate mechanical room. As the hot refrigerant gas passes through the condenser coil, it releases heat to the surrounding air, causing the refrigerant to cool down and condense into a high-pressure liquid.

  3. Expansion Device: The high-pressure liquid refrigerant flows through an expansion device, such as a thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) or capillary tube, significantly reducing its pressure and temperature. This process causes the refrigerant to evaporate partially, resulting in a mixture of low-pressure liquid and vapor.

  4. Evaporator: Inside the walk-in freezer, the low-pressure refrigerant mixture enters the evaporator coil. As the cold refrigerant absorbs heat from the air inside the freezer, it evaporates and cools the air, maintaining the desired low temperature. Fans inside the freezer help circulate the cold air evenly throughout the storage space.

  5. The refrigerant, now in a low-pressure gaseous state, returns to the compressor, where the cycle begins again.
